Hamburg and Volkswagen continue strategic mobility partnership

On November 21, 2019, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the Volkswagen Group extended their strategic mobility partnership, which has been ongoing since 2016, for three years. The focus is on intelligent traffic connectivity, the use of autonomous vehicles, the promotion of electric mobility and innovative mobility services. Together, the City of Hamburg and Volkswagen Group want to use innovative mobility solutions to make the quality of life in urban areas as sustainable, efficient and safe as possible. In addition to implementing concrete projects, the City of Hamburg and the Volkswagen Group are also involved as future drivers for the use of intelligent transport systems (ITS). An important milestone in this context is Hamburg's successful tender to host the ITS World Congress 2021. Volkswagen AG actively supported the tender and is a main partner of the ITS World Congress.
