First test track throughout Germany switches to new security standard PKI v1.3.1

The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is moving forward with the step-by-step migration of traffic light systems to the new PKI version 1.3.1 and the automatic request of certificates. With immediate effect, all traffic lights on the TAVF track are equipped on the basis of the latest security standard ETSI TS 103 097 v.1.3.1. This makes the test track a German-wide pioneer in IT security for automated and connected driving. To register as a user for the use of certificates, please contact the TAVF office moin@tavf.hamburg

With increasing automatisation and connectivity of vehicles and infrastructure, IT security is becoming more and more important. Especially in V2X communication, reliable and trustworthy information exchange between vehicles and the cooperative infrastructure is essential. The Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) provides digitally signed certificates to prove the authenticity of messages.
