Intelligent greetings from the TAVF to the ITS community

The project partners from the TAVF - Test Track for Automated and Connected Driving in Hamburg cannot personally welcome the ITS community at this year's ITS World Congress in Los Angeles. Therefore they send digital greetings from the test track in a video message. In this way the TAVF activities and users will be presented. Since 2018, the test track in Hamburg's city centre has been in operation and is being continuously expanded. The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is gradually equipping more than 55 traffic lights and a bridge for I2V/V2I communication. Since June of this year, all traffic lights have been equipped with PKI version 1.3.1 in accordance with the latest standard for public safety infrastructures. This makes the test track a pioneer in IT security for automated and connected driving throughout Germany. With numerous equipment features, it enables vehicle manufacturers, technology companies and research institutions to test ITS applications, safety and assistance systems as well as automated and connected driving functions in a real traffic environment on public roads. Since the opening of the test track, ten users from different areas are on the TAVF test track to test automated and connected driving functions. The TAVF project partners are looking forward to welcoming the ITS community personally at the ITS World Congress in Hamburg from 11-15 October 2021.
