At the turn of the year a further intersection with the ITS-G5 based communication unit was equipped and put into operation. An essential part of the upgrade is the local and digital provision of information on the current signal phase (SPaT) and the existing road topology (MAP). Depending on the existing traffic light system, the SPaT messages can also provide information on the remaining time of the current signal phase and, in future, forecasts on the further course of the signal phase. Since the beginning of the year, 4 locations on the test track have been available for testing automated and connected driving functions and applications. By the middle of the year, the scope of the test track is to be extended to 12 systems.
